Bali thru Instagram with Whit

I got home late Sunday night and going to work yesterday was pretty brutal. I am extremely jet lagged after flying 22 hours. I am still going through all the photos I took while I was on vacation in Bali. I can't wait to share them with you guys! But in the meantime here are some of the snaps I shared on instagram.

Wear With: Denim Jacket

A denim jacket is such a great layering piece. It's so versatile and can be paired with pants, maxi skirts, dresses, and shorts. Here are just some of the ways I have incorporated my Gap denim jacket into my work and weekend wear.

Weekend Florals

San Francisco has been experiencing a serious heat wave over the past week and I have been loving every second of it! As predicted, I had a very relaxing weekend. Saturday was spent outside at the park and Sunday I enjoyed brunch in the East Bay with some good friends. Doesn't get much better than that!

Pink with Pleats

This Marc Jacobs blazer gets me every time. The colorful tweed with the statement buttons *sigh* I just love it! Its a great blazer to dress up or down. The last time I wore it, I paired it with black trousers.

Coral

This week has been a bit emotional so I'm definitely looking forward to a relaxing weekend. The weather is supposed to be perfect in SF (not too hot, not too cold), so I will be taking full advantage of it and testing out as much of my spring/summer wardrobe as possible. Have a wonderful weekend everyone!

Blazer and Kicks

I love how cute Britt looked in her wedge sneakers (here and here) that I finally caved and had to get a pair. I love wearing them when I am walking around on the weekend. They are fast becoming my go-to kicks. I kept with the black and white theme from head to toe. This skirt is a re-discovered new favorite, I found it when I finally cleaned out my closet.

Boston

Today I’m going to take a little break from my usual outfit posts, mainly because every time I tried to write one up it seemed to fall flat. I know that similar sentiments have already been said many times over the past two days, and most likely in a much more eloquent fashion, but I need to get this out.

While I have called SF home for almost six years now (crazy how time flies), I will always be a Boston girl at heart. I grew up north of the city, went to Boston College, and lived and worked in Boston after graduating. It’s where I met my fiancé and it’s where both of our families still live and work today.

This past Monday was Patriots' Day in Massachusetts, or as I (and many others) like to refer to it, Marathon Monday. Growing up, you have the day off from school and watch the marathon with your parents on TV, (or downtown if you are lucky enough to be in the city). In college it is one of the best days of the year. You wake up early despite still having the day off, indulge in *ahem* adult beverages, and spend the day on the sidelines of the marathon cheering on your family, friends, and for the most part…complete strangers. It’s one of those rare days where everyone in the city is connected and celebrating together.

On Monday that changed. I had very close family and friends near the finish line that day and am so fortunate and thankful that no one I know was hurt physically. Witnessing that in person though is something that I can’t even begin to understand and I don't pretend to know what those injured and their families must be going through right now.

For the past two days I haven't been able to stop thinking about it. I've been reading every article I can get my hands on, watching the news constantly, anything to try and make sense of the situation. I swing from being on the verge of tears to so angry at those who would dare to destroy such a special day. I keep saying, “It just doesn't make any sense.” People then remind me that it isn't supposed to.

If there is one good thing to come out of this tragedy, it is how Boston has rallied together. The outpouring of love and support by people across the country (even around the world) is so incredible to witness. It actually gives me the chills just thinking about it.
I know that Boston will only become stronger from this in the long run, but for the time being. it still hurts.

Stay safe and we are thinking about you Boston! #OneBoston
